Granulated Mjolnir with a god mask, possibly depicting Thor. Symbol of power and strenght.
This is a replica of a silver Thor's Hammer found in Bredsätra on the isle of Öland in Sweden. This replica is a jewellery masterpiece. Original model was made by original filigree and granulation.
The original piece is exhibited at the Historiska Museet in Stockholm (Inventar-Nr. SHM 101). This hammer is a part of a silver treasure (ca. 594g) found by the farmer Nils Nilsson in 1780, under a stone near the mainroad of Bredsätra. Today only 10% of the treasure is preserved containing coins and jewelry.
Mjölnir, The hammer of Thor or The Thor's Hammer is one of the most known ancient Norse symbols. Many miniature Thor's Hammers were found in many regions of Scandinavia in many different shapes or styles - often used as religious amulets. Thor is the god of thunder and his hammer (also called Mjölnir) has the power of lightning, so it will give you strenght and protect you.
